"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven" - Ecclesiastes 3:1
Start a podcast they said. It'll be fun they said.
Actually, no one said that. Well, except the Holy Spirit.
For years, I've had the whisper on my heart that the world needed me to be a little bit louder. I wasn't sure how to go about making this happen, but little by little the pieces came together, inspiration was followed and now this podcast has become one of the blessings of my life. This time of life will forever be marked for me as a Season of Sisterhood, and my heart is so full.
Season 1 was full of unknowns and a lot of learning. It seems like every time we would sit down to record, we would watch the end product and find ways to improve sound, then staging and finally lighting. It's still not perfect, but through the help of so many amazing family members the pieces finally seem like they are fitting together. We couldn't do this passion project without the help and support of our husbands, who hold down the fort while we record. And for our mom, who believes in us all so much that she is always the first watcher on YouTube, even when we always post at 12 midnight.
Amid all the growth, we found so much joy. There was healing in our own relationships as we laughed together, and shared our strengths and weaknesses. I'll never forget Lindsay's embarrassing story sound effects, Evey's Pop-Culture Corner wisdom and Cortney's courage as she walks the road of working mom who finds joy in the surrender of letting go and letting God prevail.
Are we perfect? Nope. But do we keep trying? Always.
Now we're starting Season 2. What a gift.
I thought it might be good to let you know 5 things you can expect from our new season...
Season 2 dives into the struggles women face daily - mom guilt, feeling "not enough", balancing faith + family - always with honesty and a touch of humor.
We are not about lofty theology, though in life there is a place for that. This corner of the social sphere is about simple faith practices you can live out in the carpool line, at work, or around the dinner table.
I've created a recipe for finding joy in life, and that's the GRIT method. It stands for Growth, Resilience, Intention and Togetherness. They aren't just words, but pillars that can help you develop faith. We'll show you how to apply them in motherhood, marriage and community.
This is a place of stories. You'll hear our real ones, both the messy and the beautiful, that remind you you're not alone - and give you the courage to keep going.
Because life is heavy enough. We mix encouragement with sister-style banter (and yes, there will be more bloopers too.) that will leave you smiling.
As we step into Season 2 of the Southern Sisters Podcast and launch The Southern Sisterhood blog, we see each conversation and each post as a stone carefully placed along the trail. These are the markers of our journey - stories of faith, lessons from motherhood, and reminders of God's presence in the everyday. Just like a cairn guides weary hikers and lets them know they're on the right path, our hope is that these words and episodes will serve as a signpost for women walking their own roads of faith and family.

We may not have all the answers, but together we can leave something behind - evidence that God is faithful, that community matters, and that even small steps of grace are worth making. Whether you are just finding us now or have been with us from the beginning, you are part of this cairn we are building.
Every stone tells a story and together they create a path of encouragement for those that come after us. May these markers remind you: you are not alone, you are loved and the journey is worth taking.
Until next time....
Keep striving and we'll see y'all soon.
