I am Woman: Divinely Designed

Understanding our Diving Identity.

It's a loaded topic. I know. It seems pretty basic, but what if it were actually the whole point?

That the process of becoming who you are meant to be was founded on remembering who you've always been.

When planning our podcast this topic came to my heart like a freight train, and I knew it would be important.

God NEEDS His daughters to remember who we are. When I saw Lindsays power pose with her arms up, I literally had that song from the 70's go through my head... "I am strong, I am invincible, I am womaaaaaan." You know you are singing it took. But why does it matter that we remember who we are?

Because when you remember that you are His, it literally changes everything.

Child of God: Purpose, Power and Promise

Your divine identity gives you PURPOSE. When Evey spoke of her struggle with bullies in school when she was younger, it made my heart break. I can’t even imagine a world that would be complete without her in it. Not possible. Her knowledge of who she is as God's daughter carried her with a purpose greater than the voice in her head that was telling her she wasn't enough and she shouldn't go on.

How many souls have lost their earthly battle because they didn’t feel like it was worth going on? Even one is too many. Our reality is that mental health is one of the greatest challenges that surround us. We’ve got to be louder in telling those children and youth who they are and to whom they belong.

Knowing we are His children is an anchor to our souls and it helps us rise above the moment to remember that we are greater than we feel when the times are hard.

Believing you are Child of God gives us POWER. I’m reminded of the movie “The Lion King”, and the power that Simba had once he stopped running from his past and remembered who he was and what he was supposed to do. It gave him power to walk the hard road, and allowed him to fulfill his life mission.

You may think that it’s juvenile, but I will never forget the night time cloud formation of Mufasa, telling his son Simba, “Remember who you are.” That James Earl Jones moment was iconic.

That same call literally needs to be for all of us. If we are going to have power to withstand our trials, we need to gather strength from the source of unlimited power. That’s God. Let Him be a part of your life in an intimate way, as a father to child.

Knowing our diving heritage gives us a PROMISE for tomorrow. I can’t even imagine how it feels to walk through life not knowing why we are here and what is our end. But through our knowledge of God’s plan, we know that we are here to be tested and to learn. It is a process of becoming. It is painful, and it is difficult. We all have those seasons of struggle, but through our knowledge that we are God’s children we can hope for a bright tomorrow.

Even if that tomorrow is after this life is over.

I love the scripture of Romans 8:16-17 that talks about this promise. It says, “16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

There is a promise that because we are God’s children we have the ability to be joint heirs with Christ. Together, we can all be glorified.

I hope next time you are facing the storms of life you remember who you are as His child. It changes everything.

It can give you purpose in your struggle, power to overcome, and a promise to hold onto when you can’t see the ending.

Until next time...

Keep striving and we'll see y'all soon.
